January 14,2005-The
band is currently putting the finish on the new CD "Smile
Bitch! " due out about the end of January or so. We
will be travelingto Atlanta to do the mastering at Rodney Mills
Masterhouse (rodneymills.com).
We have yet to work with Mr. Mills, but judging bythe credentials of
him and his facility, it looks like it should be well worth the
trip. This project was a long time in the making, it willbe nice to
finally get it completed, and it'll be nice to have something new to
pass along to those of you who've been waiting, and those
unsuspecting future fans of the band.
Speaking of future fans, we
recently got invited to be a part of an indie labels
compilation/sampler CD due out in early 2005 . The folks at Lost Cat
Records (lostcatrecords.com)
got a hold of "Cookie" sometime over the last year and absolutely
"had to have" the quirky ballad "2 Birds" on their
project. Needless to say we are pretty excited about the exposure,
not to mention knowing that of the hundreds of CD's mailed out, at
least one of them got a spin. We will keep the site updated on the
progress of that, and any other relevant info regarding the
adventures of Mans Laughter.
Don't forget to check our
schedule page, as we will be trying to get out in front of people on
a much more regular basis than has been the case over the last few
years. We have amassed a fat set list of over 40 originals, and now
are up to at least 6 releases in the archives. We've been busy to
say the least, the last 5 years or so (of our 9 or 10 together now)
have been more about growth than anything else, and we think it all
shows when we plug in for a crowd...so be sure to get out to one of
our upcoming gigs, say hi, and grab a CD.
Don't forget the CD "Cookie" is
still available at
CDbaby.com, as well as at the shows. You can get samples of a
lot of our material right here on the site (in one downloadable
format or another).
Check some of the new pics too,
we have a group of new ones from New York while doing some of the
mix down sessions with John Siket and friends at Studio 99 (the
back half of the old Theater 99). This is also a chance to get a
visual of the enigmatic and provocative Tara Meadows (she does seem
to provoke
something in
everyone..). It was a good time, and it translates in the end
result, so be sure to get a copy of "Smile
Bitch! " as soon as you can. Also feel free to let
us know what you think, say hi, and leave us your contact on the
Guestbook link, we'd like to here from you.
Finally, with our new server we
will be able to bring a lot more content to the site, and you will
be able to e-mail anyone of the band members directly, as well as
request CD's info etc...So check back often.
